About Us

Who We Are

Here at Bird Dog Flight Services, we are a boutique flight school located in Northwest Fort Worth at Hicks airport. We train students with all levels of flight experience and love helping our clients foster a love for aviation. Our number one goal is to produce well rounded and safe pilots who ready to to join the aviation community as enthusiasts or professionals. We pride ourselves on having a stellar safety record, high quality instruction, consistent aircraft dispatch, and ease of scheduling.

OUR Fleet

We are proud to offer two Cessna 172's. a Piper Warrior, for rental to our students. At Bird Dog Flight Services we place a large emphasis on only flying safe and well maintained airplanes. Our aircraft have been immaculately maintained and you will rarely see lower time and more well maintained flight school planes!


Both 172's are fully IFR certified and have an updated Garmin 375 avionics package. The Garmin 375 is a great happy medium between a full glass panel and full steam gauge panel so students can get the benefit of learning both steam gauges and how to use a high functioning GPS. 


Our Piper Warrior is fully IFR certified with Garmin 530 WAAS Capability.  All aircraft meet our high standards of maintenance and are exceptional training aircraft. 

Gleim BATD Flight Simulator

We are thrilled to announce the addition of a fully FAA certified Gleim Basic Aviation Training Device or 'BATD' simulator. The Gleim Virtual Cockpit BATD delivers the ultimate immersive experience with a global navigation database and more than 33,000 instrument procedures. 


Earn 10 hours towards your instrument rating, log up to 2.5 hours toward your private license, and maintain your instrument proficiency.
