Madison Barber

Founder & Chief Flight Instructor (CFII)
Madison is a fourth-generation pilot and the founder of Bird Dog Flight Services. She holds an ATP certificate with multiple type ratings and has served as Director of Training under Part 135. Her extensive background in both commercial operations and instructional leadership informs the school’s personalized, results-driven training philosophy. Madison is passionate about building confident, capable aviators and shaping a more intentional standard for Part 61 flight training.

Sierra Cobb

Flight School Manager & Chief Instructor (CFII)
Sierra brings a unique perspective to aviation after transitioning from a successful career as an ER nurse. Now a CFI and CFII, she combines her attention to detail, calm demeanor, and teaching skills to provide a supportive and effective training experience. Sierra is deeply committed to helping students thrive both in the cockpit and in their personal growth.

Nick Williamson

Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII)
Nick is a Navy veteran and accomplished flight instructor known for his approachable style and strong mentorship of young aviators. As a CFI and CFII, he brings a strong focus to instrument training while also working closely with students across all phases of their journey. During his military service, Nick worked as a weapons technician supporting the F/A-18 and F-14 strike fighter community—experience that shaped his disciplined, detail-oriented approach to flight training. He now continues his work in the defense industry as a senior design engineer. Outside of aviation, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and staying current in the ever-evolving world of aviation.

Max Nilsson

Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII)
Max is a dedicated flight instructor known for his calm, student-focused teaching style and his ability to make complex concepts easy to grasp. He excels at building confidence in new pilots and laying a strong foundation for safe, proficient flying. Before turning his attention to the skies, Max grew up sailing competitively—an experience that shaped his disciplined, hands-on approach to learning and his passion for mastering the details. Today, he brings that same precision and enthusiasm to every lesson.
